5 Great Ski Mountains to Check Out in New Hampshire
If you're planning to visit New Hampshire during ski season, you're in for a treat. With stunning views, a variety of trails, and excellent facilities, New Hampshire offers some of the best skiing in New England. As New Hampshire's Go-To Realtor, I’ve compiled a list of the top five ski mountains you should consider when hitting the slopes. Whether you're a seasoned skier or just starting out, there's something for everyone. Plus, each of these mountains is within a reasonable distance from Boston and Logan International Airport, making them easy to access for out-of-state visitors.
1. Bretton Woods
Bretton Woods is New Hampshire’s largest ski resort, offering 98 trails across three distinct mountains. Known for its breathtaking views of the Presidential Range, this resort features an 8-person gondola, one of the fastest in the state. Whether you're carving down wide-open slopes or navigating the more challenging runs, Bretton Woods has something for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. If you're looking for a luxurious experience, stay at the Historic Omni Mount Washington Resort, a stunning hotel that combines classic elegance with modern amenities. Bretton Woods is also a year-round destination, with activities such as snowshoeing, zip-lining, and hiking in the warmer months.

With a variety of beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails, it’s the perfect mountain for families and skiers of all skill levels. Located just off I-93, Loon is incredibly accessible, making it a great option for a quick weekend getaway. Its family-friendly atmosphere and proximity to the town of Lincoln also make it an excellent choice for those traveling with children. With a relaxed, family-friendly vibe, King Pine offers a variety of beginner runs, as well as options for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and tubing. Located in Madison, this smaller mountain is ideal for those who want to avoid the crowds at larger resorts, while still enjoying a great day on the snow. The mountain is perfect for families and first-time skiers, and it’s a great place to introduce kids to the sport in a fun, laid-back atmosphere.
