Swimming Holes Around The State
New Hampshire is home to more than 50 swimming holes, according to swimmingholes.org. Many of these swimming holes have been popular for generations. Keep in mind, you may experience some strong currents and rocky areas, so swim at your own risk. Below is a few of our favorite places to cool off in the summer!
Packer’s Falls in Durham on the Lamprey River has fast-moving water and natural water slides. It’s located at the corner of Route 108 and Bennett Road.
Smith Covered Bridge in Plymouth spans the Baker River. It has ample parking, perfect spot for families to enjoy picnic and swimming.
Profile Falls in Bristol boasts a 25-foot drop. The area includes a parking lot and picnic tables.
Lonesome Lake is a picturesque2-acre water hole situated above Franconia Notch on the trail to Cannon Mountain. It's considered one of the prettiest pools in the state and is accessed by a 1.6-mile hike.
Lower Falls on the Kancamagus Highway is one of the most popular swimming destinations in NH, attracting many visitors with its beautiful setting.
