Where do you dream?

To be more specific, what would the ideal bedroom look like to you with a good budget and a sprinkle of imagination?

I used to think about this as a kid, imagining rope swings, cleverly concealed hiding places & lots of toys!  As an adult my ideal room has changed a bit, but it’s still designed to delight & deliver much needed peace as you end or begin a day.

For starters, there would be a huge sunlit bathroom with a sleek marble shower & steam room.  The tub would be big enough so that I could disappear beneath the waves if I pleased.  Oh yeah and the floor would be heated and warm underneath my bare feet.

My bed would be vast, hidden underneath a sea of soft blankets and pillows.  The colors warm and the rug plush underfoot.  Soft & warm would serve as the guiding principle to the room’s contents.  There would be bookcases full of interesting books and candles and funky lighting.

Oh yeah, and my bedroom would be flooded with light during the day, with lots of windows and east to west exposure.  My plants would be big and tropical and uncommon.  Hanging on the wall above my head would be a painting of white birch trees covered in blood red petals, the petals both suspended in the treetops and cascading to the forest floor below.

I would feel safe and warm and I could turn off the day.  In this space I could relax and recharge and ready myself for the next day’s adventure.
