Winter carnivals and festivals are a New Hampshire staple. In the heat of the cold season, when fireplaces roar and Granite Staters become hermits, it’s nice to have an excuse to leave the house, get together and celebrate. Shovel out that driveway and hit the road to experience the best cold-weather carnivals our state has to offer.


36th Annual Newport Winter Festival

The Newport Winter Festival is excited to be back again this year for another exciting 10 days of events featuring a silent disco, an Elton John Tribute Band, and more! 


32nd Annual Winter Carnival at Wasserman Park in Merrimack

When: Saturday, February 24, 2024 | 12 to 3 p.m.

This fun-filled free day will be filled with snowman building, snow art, an ice fishing derby and various arts and crafts, featuring a combination of indoor and outdoor fun, all taking place at Wasserman Park.


Wolfeboro Bay Winter Carnival: Winter Wonderland

When: Monday, February 27 – Saturday, March 4, 2024

Events are held throughout Wolfeboro and include a big air competition, free ice skating, curling classes, sleigh rides, ski races, a mini horse petting area, a pancake breakfast and more.
