After grading and stoning the inside of the foundation in the Lower Level, we go the extra mile by adding a thick sheet of 6mil poly and also 2” sheets of rigid foam, and then pour our concrete floor on top. This helps create a more efficient vapor barrier which in turn help eliminate “sweating”, resulting in a much dryer Lower Level (basement). Lastly, we enlist the services of the Matco Corporation to tar seal and foamboard the exterior of the foundation walls, which is supported by a lifetime warranty against leakage/wetness, and its fully transferable to the new owner.

******* Wall Framing consists of 2x6 construction which we enhance by adding blocking every 4ft to increase wall stiffness, rigidity, and to keep walls straight and eliminate bows. Roof framing consists of custom designed engineered trusses from Boise Cascade of Greenland, NH. Upon completion of the truss installation, we require a site inspection from a certified engineer at Boise Cascade as an addition precautionary measure, even though the Meredith Building inspector is very thorough.

******** Insulation consists of a combination of sprayfoam (6” in vaulted ceilings), blown-in cellulose, and conventional fiberglass batts, all of which exceeds the required “R” values because of the additional quantity used.

********* All Interior walls are upgraded to plaster (as opposed to standard sheetrock) because it offers a more durable and higher quality result. All ceilings have one coat of primer and two coats of finished white. All walls have one coat of primer and are ready for finish colors.
